This training has been a game changer for me. I feel called to facilitate a practice that teaches others how to regulate and heal themselves and find a deeper connection to self. I love the way the training was offered – a perfect blend of independent scheduling and live connection. The teachings are informed and supported from a science based perspective and a felt sense of Megan's personal experiences and the esoteric aspects of yoga woven throughout beautifully. I am bringing it into my classes with very positive feedback from students.

This was by far the best training I've ever been in - yoga or otherwise! The content was, rich, deep, and thoughtful. The structure of a pre-recorded lesson and then a live class which picked up on much of the lesson was brilliant especially because the live class explored variations of what was in the lesson. This made the learning deeper, richer, and also gave me time and space to embody the work. Megan's knowledge is in her bones, her breath, her muscles---and she brings deep respect and love for the practices and especially for her students to her teaching. This is rare. She is so deeply authentic and that authenticity makes and holds space for her students to be curious, explore, learn, and importantly heal. Michael's music takes the training to another level. It is professional in a way that few things in the yoga and even larger fitness/wellness world are. These two are guides to a deeper place in yourself.

Having no former experience with Somatics I was open to see what it was about. I've taught several modalities of Yoga over 25 years. I was frustrated with the difficulty some of my students experienced in traditional vinyasa. Megan's course was far and away more than I could have expected. Her attention to detail as far as combining anatomy and purposeful movement was invaluable. Her sessions were filled with personal experience, thoughtful guidance and years of training. Her wisdom has already made a huge difference in how I conduct my classes. I can see the results of Somatic Yoga in my student's well being both physically and mentally.

Is Somatic Yoga for you? If you are a yoga therapist, yoga teacher or body worker, this 50 hour certified training will give you the confidence to use Somatic Yoga in private and group sessions. The training is for Yoga Therapists who want to include somatics in private therapy sessions, and teachers who want to offer Somatic Yoga classes, or make your current classes more interesting, embodied and accessible by weaving in somatic movement. The training will also inspire your personal practice by giving you lifelong self-care tools for vibrant aging.

The content provides a deep but practical understanding of the principles of Somatic Yoga for common muscle imbalance patterns, chronic pain, trauma, disease, vibrant aging and well being. It is delivered in a hybrid weekly model with 2-4 hours of pre-recorded content per week. Each weekly pre-recorded lesson includes lecture, appropriately related practices and downloadable course material.  Additionally, we will meet live on zoom for 10 weeks every Wednesday from 5-7:15 pm Dublin time (that is 12-2:15 pm Eastern Standard Time). Who is this course for?

This course is thoughtfully designed for Yoga Teachers, Yoga Therapists, and Somatic Educators.  It is also a functional practice for body workers and health care professionals to share with their clients. Additionally, you will benefit from this training if you are a yoga or somatic movement student and would like a self-healing, life-long body therapy practice.  You will gain intellectual and practical knowledge of how to blend the traditions of yoga and somatics in your own existing practice.

What is Somatic Yoga?

Somatic Yoga integrates the science of neuromuscular retraining with body consciousness through the breath. It is mainly done lying down or seated (chair or floor), making it extremely adaptable. When you slow down and experience yourself through movement and breath, you learn to self-regulate the nervous system and keep your internal state steady and balanced. It is beneficial to all the systems of the body and can reduce pain, heal trauma, improve sleep, increase vitality and balance the subtle body.
