Teacher Training Participants
As a 500-hour certified yoga teacher currently pursuing my training in yoga therapy, I recently had the privilege of participating in Megan’s online Somatic Yoga course. As someone passionate about enhancing body-brain communication, I found this style of yoga perfectly aligns with my goals, whether it's to create greater comfort in daily life or to excel in sports. The course allowed me to delve deeper into the subtleties of body awareness, unlocking new levels of relaxation and strength in my practice. The energetic benefits of the movements, working with prana (life-force energy), were also profoundly impactful. This aspect of Somatic Yoga resonated deeply with my ongoing yoga therapy training, enriching my understanding and appreciation of the body's innate wisdom and healing capabilities. This Somatic Yoga course has been an invaluable addition to my yoga practice and professional development. It has broadened my perspective, enhanced my skills, and deepened my appreciation for the transformative power of yoga. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the therapeutic aspects of yoga or to enhance their overall well-being.
I loved this course! Everything was so well thought-through and presented in such a clear and accessible manner... plus Megan always made time for questions and discussion when any of us felt like we needed to dig a bit deeper or further review something that we were wondering about. I especially loved how the course was structured in such a way that it covered the somatic experience from all angles: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, and if something does not resonate with you there are multiple approaches you can take, so you are sure to find your own. And all of the approaches are valid. This course was wonderful in its breadth and depth, and in its inclusiveness for all participants. Plus, there is the fun of connecting with people from all over the world!
The Somatic Yoga Level 1 Online Training was totally absorbing. Loved the physical practices informed by the anatomy lessons and references to scientific research. We learned beautiful simple practices for personal use and to share with others. We were inspired by how Megan used these practices to work with clients suffering pain and restrictions from all kinds of conditions and illnesses.
I enjoyed the Somatic Yoga Online Training very much. It opened my eyes to all the healing opportunities it provides for students. Excellent resources and well presented in a relaxed, informative way, well paced. I would recommend it to others. I have already started using it in my classes and will be interested to see where it goes. I hope to join in some of the monthly sessions, I think that is a great idea to help keep updated and on track.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this training - it was professionally led, full of great information and lots of practical take-aways that I can use in my public and private teaching. Megan is absolutely first rate in her knowledge, warmth and expert guidance. I have already recommended this training to other yoga therapists.
Very valuable Somatic Yoga teaching and resources for everyone interested in connecting more deeply into their body and looking for pathways to work through trauma and chronic pain for themselves and their clients
It was really wonderful to review the content again. There is so much nuance and detail in the things you teach that, either through your words or my body, something new comes up each time. I hope to take a class in person soon. Well-rounded and thoughtful. Robust yet digestible. I absolutely adored the pace and the format. Megan managed to keep a wonderful sense of community, even though we were all remote. Somatic yoga changed my life, and I can't imagine a kinder, gentler or more playful instructor.
The Somatic Yoga Teacher Training Online, Level 1 was amazing. Mind-blowing yet gentle. Well-rounded and thoughtful. Robust yet digestible. I absolutely adored the pace and the format. Megan managed to keep a wonderful sense of community, even though we were all remote. Somatic yoga changed my life, and I can't imagine a kinder, gentler or more playful instructor. Do yourself a favor and engage with all of Megan's offerings.
Megan is a great teacher with both the knowledge and the heart. The online course is well organized with the materials and live practices, which goes both expansively and deeply into the applications of somatics for practitioners and teachers. I love the practical teaching materials that can be applied immediately in my practice and teachings.
I am not a yoga but a dance instructor. The course was well presented with an equal amount of time learning and then exploring that knowledge through movement. Megan was very easy to follow and understand which made the course accessible to a variety of levels of student experiences. Megan allowed ample time for questions and answers as well as creating an online community for us where we could share experiences and get to know each other better as human beings.
The content and the experiential parts were organized and offered with creativity and attention to detail. I found it easy to assimilate. Megan is very gracious in her approach to sharing her own experiences and I think we can all relate as “somas” when it comes through so honestly. The wealth of knowledge moving forward with my clients now is really exciting. Though it is difficult to name one favorite part, I think it is The Subtle Body and the last lesson about pain care.
I’m so grateful I found your videos and this training. Your deep knowledge, approach and engagement, it is simply the best I can imagine. I learn so much on a much deeper level about everything!
This course has undeniably brought immeasurable value to my life. I find myself regularly revisiting the videos, benefiting from the wealth of knowledge they offer. As a teacher, having access to this valuable resource greatly enhances the learning experience for my students.
Your yoga retreat centre is wonderful and so are you and Michael, and of course your lovely 4 legged friends. You both gave out a lot and was very generous of your time and energy. I really loved your location and the space, peace & nature it offered. The hot tub was a big hit for me, helping me to have deep sleeps, which I don’t always have. The food was excellent, ideal for me in every way, which is not what I usually find. I loved the yoga and your way of teaching - it was just what I needed - felt very therapeutic. The sound healing was really powerful
When I met Megan for lunch, pre-pandemic, I had already been taking her Somatic yoga classes online. Learning that she would be moving to Ireland somehow, I knew we would meet again. I continued with online Somatic Teacher Training. Last month, my husband and I visited Ireland including 5 days at the Embody with MM retreat Wow! Their spot is a true treasure in the lush western Irish countryside. I practiced twice a day with personalize sessions based on my needs. Priceless. Bruce and I enjoyed fresh local sourced ingredient breakfasts and dinners prepared together with Megan and Michael along with wine, and Irish gin and beer. We chilled with their dog Milo and Michael playing guitar. Megan and Michael acted as our guides as we explored Farmers Markets, nearby hikes and kayaking. Such a gorgeous country. Can’t wait to go back.
I had the opportunity to participate in a lovely hiking and yoga retreat in Ireland with Megan & Michael. Our time was well planned with a structured yet easy going itinerary customized to our groups requests. The hikes were well suited to a wide range of abilities and Megan offered different styles of yoga classes to accommodate our needs as well. The meals were delicious and nourishing. Megan & Michael were gracious hosts and very knowledgeable about all that the area has to offer. I really enjoyed my time with the group and would love to plan a trip and do it all over again!
I went there for a weekend retreat with Megan & Michael! It was a fabulous experience in their 7 acre retreat area & studio! The rooms & food & welcoming we got was outstanding ! The dogs were amazing Tanner & Milo so welcoming & kind! I would recommend this beautiful & peaceful place a thousand times! Wish this kind & friendly couple the very best on their retreat centre in beautiful Ballydehob
Yoga Therapy Clients
The online yoga therapy sessions with Megan were amazing. Her teaching style is calm, enthusiastic and overall, really unique. From the first moment I felt safe and seen with my different problems. She explains everything very well and her instructions are always on point. Besides the new movements that I learned (which were customized, so I could always choose and try different options), her guidance and insights were what I most valued about the sessions. The sessions changed the way I was thinking about my body and showed me new perspectives and simultaneously I experienced expansion and relief. I am learning to trust my body again and listening to what I need. But the best part: I started having fun with movement again! After some years with tight muscles and overall body pain I started dreading every movement, especially stretching and working out. Movement became a chore to me, that I needed to do, but I could not enjoy it. I enjoy doing the exercises I learned with Megan, I love her YouTube Videos and now my body is craving simple and painless movement throughout the day. Also, my pain levels are dropping. “
Megan possesses a rare combination of profound knowledge and skill delivered in a warm-hearted manner. While working together, she expertly led me through unwinding of deeply and long held movement and postural patterns that were contributing to chronic pain. Through this transformative work, she helped me find ease and feel at home within my body again.
As a student for many years to your classes, I have learned many exercises. Two movements along with deep belly breathing instinctively help me lay still on the surgery table when I awoke during my Cornea transplant operation of my left eye. These were the joint specific of the wrist /fingers and with the ankle/toes. Deep belly breath work allowed me to release the tension and pain during my body-mind-emotional prayer with these specific joint movements. I think its really important for those that are reluctant to try one of your classes, they need to know how you build with small movements to achieve the larger and fulfilling yoga position.
